Common questions

What does the app do?

It audits your catalog for Google Shopping feed health and for how well AI shopping agents (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode) can read your products. Then it prepares fixes, shows each one as before and after, and applies them when you say so. Open Overview to run the audit and Fixes to review and apply.

Will it change my products without asking?

No. Preparing a fix changes nothing in your store. A fix is only written when you apply it, and fixes written by AI ask for an extra confirmation first. If a product changed since the fix was prepared, the app skips it and asks you to prepare it again, so it never overwrites your edits.

How do I undo a fix?

On Fixes, open an applied fix and choose Undo. It puts back the value that was there before. If you have edited that value since, the app leaves it alone and tells you why.

The audit says it couldn't read my product pages

Stores that are not live yet (including every development store) are password-protected, and nothing outside can read them, including Google, AI agents and this audit. Open Settings, enter your storefront password (in your Shopify admin: Online Store, then Preferences), save it, and run the audit again.

How do I turn on the structured data?

The app adds product structured data (JSON-LD) to your pages through a theme app embed. In your Shopify admin go to Online Store, Themes, Customize, App embeds, switch on Product structured data, and save. There you can also fill in your return and shipping terms; nothing about them is published until you do. You never edit theme code.

Why are AI fixes paused, or used up?

AI fixes are free for up to 10 products per store. Settings shows how many you have used. After that, or if we pause AI fixes, the fixes that don't need AI (image alt text and product category) keep working with no limit.

What does the app cost?

It is free.

How do I uninstall it, and what happens to my data?

In your Shopify admin, open Settings, Apps, find Catalog Audit and uninstall it. The app's access to your store ends immediately and your storefront password is deleted. Everything else we stored is deleted 48 hours later. Fixes you already applied stay in your store. Details are in the privacy policy.

Does it see my customers or orders?

No. The app only asks for access to products and files, and stores no customer or order data.
